A bit about Holyport Village
Holyport Village is situated about 2 miles south of Maidenhead and 5 Miles east of Windsor. With the Holyport Green right next to the Ascot road it is well positioned for quick access to the M4, the Windsor Road(A308) and A330 (Ascot Road) to all major towns in the area.
Holyport has four main pubs, two situated on the Green and two on the interestingly named road “Moneyrow Green” which runs from the Green to Forest Green Road (B3024). I should also mention the Sun and Stars on the Forest Green road, just out side Holyport.
The Green is used to be used a major venue for cricket matches up until recent years but alas is no more due to the close proximity of the Ascot road to Green. However the Green still plays host to the Holyport Fair and Carters Steam Fair every year.
As will all good Villages Holyport has its local shops which consist of the very necessary News agents, Post office, chemist, butchers and general stores. In fact everything you need along with the local doctors surgery, school and pubs Holyport is the idyllic rural English village.
Other amenities include the Holyport war memorial hall, tennis courts, scout hut, cricket club and youth club.
One other small claim to fame that Holyport Village has is that is has a Real Tennis Club. I could try to explain but I would not do it justice so I better leave that to them. Read more about the Real Tennis Club here.
